Christen Hepuakoa Marquez holds a BFA in Film and Video Production from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. In 2011 she Produced the narrative feature film "Two Shadows", which went on to win the audience choice award for Best Feature Narrative at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film festival. In 2012 she completed her documentary Directorial debut in partnership with PBS Hawai`i on an hour-long program called "E Haku Inoa: To Weave A Name" which was nominated for Best Documentary at the 2013 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. The film premiered nationally on PBS in 2013 and continues to be broadcast regularly.
Her previous work has been supported by Cal Humanities, The Independent Television Service (ITVS), and Pacific Islanders in Communications. She has worked as a Director, Producer, and Videographer for clients including Discovery, Nat Geo, PBS, Oxygen, and Netflix.
